The capital development authority (CDA) is planning to initiate action against owners of illegal housing societies and companies those are marketing such commercial & residential housing schemes within the limits of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). CDA Building Control Director-II Mr. Sharif Marwar said, the operation will be conducted in two phases.
In first phase, the CDA will launch a public awareness campaign through advertisement in newspapers about illegal housing societies and schemes which are operating without prior approval of CDA.
In second phase, strict action will be initiated after fulfilling the legal requirements. He added CDA has right to consider the option of criminal proceeding against owners of such societies. Earlier, all the marketing companies has been warned by CDA not to market/advertise projects without acquiring a no objection certificate (NOC) from CDA or in case of non-compliance face legal actions.
